August 6 - 8, 2019 Trout Fishing in Sierra Mountain Lakes and Rivers

Four SIR left Sunnyvale around noon on Tuesday for Heber's cabin in Arnold. We met Wally, who had already arrived at his cabin. After a less than perfect first night's sleep, we got up shortly after 4 am to get on the road for fishing by 5. We picked up another well seasoned fly fisherman, Lloyd, at his cabin and Bob, Mel, John, Wally, and Heber headed for Alpine Lake at about 8K feet. The weather was great and the cool air was welcome but the fishing left something to be desired. Wally caught a nice second year rainbow and 3 smaller ones while the rest of us just watched.

We feasted on fresh (and some last week's) trout

After three days and two nights, everyone was still talking to each other and agreed that we all had a good time inspite of the low fish to fisherman ratio. We were home around 5 PM.
